Let’s hear it for the Leaders of Today! – WE Day Media Adventures

Meghan Sharma, a senior at DuPont Manual High School, and Spencer Schumacher, a senior at North Oldham High School, recently sat down with Great Day Live co-hosts Rachel Platt and Terry Miners to speak about WE Day Kentucky. Meghan shared information about the local and global services project she and her peers engaged in to earn their tickets to WE Day. Spencer spoke about the fact that the there seems to be a gradual shift towards considering youth voices.  Particularly with current events, although young people have always been told “your turn will come, now is your time to learn“, adults and youth alike are starting to see that the time for youth really IS now, that they can use their voices and make a difference. Both students eloquently expressed their views that students are leaders of TODAY not tomorrow, that their voices need to be heard, and that by raising their voices and advocating for the changes they believe in, students do have the power to come together and make that change a reality!
