WHO ARE WE?

"WE" is a movement that brings people together and gives them the tools to change the world. Today we are millions of passionate youth, women and men working together to shift the world from ‘me’ to ‘we.’

Me into WE

We are a movement comprised of individuals with unique gifts, talents and contributions. Together, we are powerful beyond measure, knowing that our strength lies in the uniqueness of us.

WE is Everyone

We believe in the inclusive nature of doing good and that anyone can apply their individual passion to a collective world-changing impact.

WE are the Change

We believe that our actions will inspire others to do the same. We know that small things add up to great change. Because, WE starts with me.

WE are a Global Community

We are involved with each other in a global connection – with our friends, our families, our communities and the world. We believe in giving of ourselves to help raise a compassionate future generation that looks for any opportunity to make a difference.

I am WE

WE is a movement that exists for one reason: to make the world a better place. We are shameless idealists who believe that there is a version of our highest selves that comes from living a life of daily legacies. Our lives take on a deeper, transformative meaning when we impact the lives of others.

WE Day Kentucky History/Movement

In 2012, Kris and Wendy Sirchio brought the WE Day Movement to Kentucky from its roots in Canada. WE.org, one of the world’s largest youth empowerment organizations was founded 25 years ago in Toronto by 12-year-old Craig Kielburger. WE Day Kentucky started with just six schools and 175 students celebrating their impact at the Muhammad Ali Center. In 2017 WE Day Kentucky became the inaugural WE Day Community Celebration, paving the way for peer communities across the US to bring WE Day to students in their areas. We welcomed 2,400+ students to the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts from 83 counties across Kentucky and Southern Indiana! We are fortunate to have worked with a broad range of outstanding local partners, whose compassion and belief in the potential of youth to change our world have been crucial to helping us reach young people all across the Commonwealth! Thank you to all of you. We look forward to continued outstanding community support and growth of our impact in the coming years. WE Day Kentucky is proud to be a fiscally-sponsored project of the Community Foundation of Louisville.
